San Juan County Outdoor Burn Ban Notice

SAN JUAN COUNTY, WA. August 17, 2026 – Per the Washington State Department of Natural Resources, the fire danger level in San Juan County has been upgraded to HIGH. Therefore, no outdoor burning is allowed except recreational campfires.

Recreational Fires 

Recreational fires are three feet or less in diameter, built in a fire bowl, fire pit, outdoor chimney, chiminea, or the like. Burning in burn barrels is not allowed. Recreational Fires are campfires. Use firewood or charcoal only. No yard waste. No garbage. Please keep Recreational Campfires well away from structures and put them dead out before leaving them unattended. Active water supply or five gallons of water must be available on-site for quick suppression. No fires allowed at winds over 10 miles per hour.

 Three Feet or Less

Clear Area Around Fire:
 three feet or more
